Glory 19 and Spartyka Events showcased the World Kickboxing Championship at the Hampton Colliseum, featuring the world’s top kick boxers in every weight class. The capacity crowd of nearly 6,000 in attendance enjoyed the military undercard bouts as well as the world’s elite.
The premier event was broadcasted live on Spike TV, commentated by the legendary heavy weight champ Mike Tyson. The fight of the night was Nieky “The Natural” Holzken vs Raymond “Real Deal” Daniels in the welterweight tournament. The boxers game the crowd an entertainment fight but at the end it was the No 2 world ranked Holzen that won by a decisive knockout in the second round. The main event of the highly anticipated heavyweight championship bout between champion Rico Verhoeven vs No. 1 ranked Errol Zimmerman did not finish with an epic ending. Medical staff called off the bout in the second round after Zimmerman suffered a right knee injury, with Verhoeven earning the victory and retaining his championship belt.
“Glory 19 at the Hampton Coliseum was one of our most successful events in Glory boxing history,” states Eric Jackman from Jack Taylor Public Relations Firm. Our next stop is Dubai in April but we plan to bring back the Glory brand back to Hampton Roads next year.”
